Starting Out In Marketing Online
You will discover a lot of approaches to make a living on the web. But regardless of which route you pick, it all starts with market analysis. You need to locate a group of buyers who have a typical problem or need. Then all you have to do is offer them stuff that address the difficulty or meet the need.
Market research can be separated into two parts - discovering a profitable niche along with finding long tail search phrases inside of that niche. The best part is that there are quite a few free tools available to be able to do this. Several of the best resources are offered by Google itself. And so the first thing to do is register for an account with Google. Once you have done that, go to Google's search-based keyword tool at www.Google.com/sktool. Key in the words 'buy, purchase, order, get' (without quote marks) into the search area. The sktool will list out 800 phrases or terms that include these buying keywords together with other helpful data such as amount of competition, queries per month and so on. All you have to do is select the term that you believe is the most suitable for yourself, ideally one that provides not less than 2,500 searches every month.
Next, click the icon that looks like a magnifying glass alongside the search term that you have selected. This will take you to Google Insights for Search, one more no cost resource from Google at www.Google.com/insights. It will rapidly search the term that you have chosen and create the appropriate information at Google insights. Scroll down to the lower area of the page and you will see additional related search terms. Take note of all the related search phrases that you discover.
At this point you would likely have got about 10 buying keyword terms in a selected niche. This essentially indicates that there are actually people looking for advice to remedy a problem or meet a need in this niche. After that, you should check out further into how large a market this niche is and find extra search term ideas.
Go to amazon.com, ebay.com, magazines.com and clickbank.com. Enter the main keyword of the niche into the search area and notice if there are products that are shown in these websites inside of this particular niche. Odds are you will locate products in all these websites pertaining to your niche. Briefly evaluate a few of the products for suggestions - both search phrase ideas and product or service ideas. The next stage is to find long tail keywords.
To do this, go to Google's external keyword tool at https://adwords.Google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. Enter in your 10 key phrases and it will produce a listing of relevant keywords. Take note of the keyword phrases with no less than 3 words in them (long tail keywords) and that produce at least 2,500 queries per month.
Next proceed to the Google search engine at www.Google.com and enter in the main keyword inside quotation marks. As you are typing, Google will present you with related search terms. Take note of the long tail keywords. As soon as you press the search button, Google will list out all of the websites relevant to your keyword (this is known as the SERP or Search Engine Results Page). Take note of the number of websites shown (it is listed at the top right hand part of the page). You are targeting keywords having a maximum of 1,000,000 websites. If it is substantially higher than 1 million, then the keyword is too competitive. Carry out the same thing with all of the search phrases that you have and go for those that have less than 1 million competing websites.
For each of the search phrases you enter into Google, take a look at the bottom of the SERP and you'll find extra suggested related keywords. Just click on them and you will find even more keywords. Drill down into the keywords as far as you can till you come across long tail keywords with fewer than 1 million competing websites.
When you have completed your market research well enough, you will now have identified a niche that has willing purchasers along with the long tail keywords (roughly 10 will do) that they use to search in the search engine for facts relating to a product to purchase. The subsequent phase would be Product or service Research and Development which will be dealt with in the next article.
